CCC Constitution
This is CCC's constitution, copied directly from Paul Gasson's website.
- Objectives: The policy objectives of the Camden Cycling Campaign (CCC) are:
- 1.1 to provide information and organise events for the general public, and services for members of the London Cycling Campaign (LCC),
- 1.2 to provide liaison between CCC and other official and voluntary bodies, including LCC
- 1.3 to represent cyclists' interests in Camden with Camden Council and other authorities and bodies to encourage more people to cycle through various measures such as the construction of safe cycle facilities, traffic management & calming measures, and provision of cycling related information and services to the public
- 1.4 to promote cycling and its potential to improve the quality of life for Camden's residents and users.
- Scope of Activities: CCC's role is to:
- 2.1 further the objectives as set out in paragraphs 1.1 to 1.4
- 2.2 act as a source of technical and local expertise over matters relating to cycling
- 2.3 bring matters of concern to cyclists to the attention of Camden Council or other appropriate authorities
- 2.4 to comment on traffic management and other proposals put forward by Camden Council
- 2.5 to organise cycle rides and other events, and to ensure CCC participation where possible in London-wide events
- 2.6 to inform CCC members of the main activities and decisions of the committee (via newsletter or at CCC members meetings)
- 2.7 to organise from time to time such communications activities as may be decided
- 2.8 to represent Camden cyclists' interests in line with the aims in this constitution.
- Membership of CCC
- 3.1 Any member of LCC resident in Camden is automatically a member of CCC.
- 3.2 A member of LCC, who is not resident in the London Borough of Camden may be admitted to CCC membership by nomination by a CCC Management Committee (CCCMC) member, endorsed by at least two thirds of CCCMC members present.
- Membership of CCCMC
- 4.1 Any member of CCC may be nominated by another CCC member to serve as a member of CCCMC.
- 4.2 Membership of the committee is determined annually through election of nominees at CCC's AGM, or through co-option at any CCCMC meeting.
- 4.3 Where necccessary, membership of CCCMC may be revoked by a vote of two thirds of serving committee members.
- Composition of CCCMC
- 5.1 The committee shall consist of no fewer than 3, and no more than 15 members.
- 5.2 The committee shall meet no fewer than 3 times each year, with one of these meetings combined with the AGM. The AGM shall be open to all CCC members who shall vote on matters arising.
- 5.3 Three CCCMC members shall constitute a quorum.
- Voting system for CCCMC
- 6.1 Voting shall be by a simple majority, unless otherwise determined by the committee.
- 6.2 In the event of equal votes being cast, the Chair shall have a casting vote.
- Officers of CCCMC - 7.1 The officers shall consist of at least a Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer; they, and such other officers as deemed expedient, shall be elected annually at the AGM.
