Cycle facility engineering
Objectives and a summary of the topics discussed at meetings with Dave Stewart.
CCC meets with Dave Stewart the officer at Camden council responsible for cycle schemes. These meetings take place about four times a year.
The objective of these meetings is to allow CCC to provide input into cycling schemes from pre-consultation stage, through development and during their usage.
The main discussions from 2005-2009 have involved the LCN+ routes 0 (the SSL) and 6 (the north-south route) as well as the recent CRISPs on the new Link 27 and on the north south route.
These routes were planned long before either the LCN+ or the CRISP process was introduced. In fact, the SSL was initially concevied by Paul Gannon.
Minutes of these meetings. CRISP on Link 27
CRISP on Link 28 (north-south route) CRISP on Links 26 and 31 (Finchley Road)
CRISP on Link 30 (Seven Stations Link (Camden section of Stations Circular) Link 50 (Route 39)
Boris Johnson stopped funding LCN+ in 2009 although it was not due for completion until 2010. Recent discussions have covered issues such as the cycle hire scheme, the Agar-Camley Link, the permeability campaign and plans for future cycle schemes.
