Belsize Area 20 mph zone

Document Actions
Dates: consultation Feb 2006; reply due 10 Mar 2006. Council decision 21 March 2006. Officer Joanna Alker and Dave Stewart. CCC member dealing with it Stefano Casalotti.

StreetMap location

The council is offering a choice between a proper 20 mph zone with vertical enforcement measures and a so-called 20 mph limit with some traffic calming measures.

Option A: A minimal 20mph zone: traffic calming measures on all roads at approximately 100 metre spacing.

Option B: A traffic calmed area with 20mph limit: traffic calming measures on selected through routes only, at approximately 100 metre spacing.

For the purposes of the consultation, the area is divided into three zones. But we are consulted on all of them.

Zone 1

Zone 2

Zone 3

CCC's response

CCC supports the introduction of all three 20mph zones (option A) but notes that the surrounding roads including Fitzjohn Avenue, Englands lane, Havestock Hill, Lindhurst Rd should also become 20mph
