Wing Photo Chelsea Bridge
- Northbound cyclists following a mandatory cycle lane can run off onto a cycle track along the back of the footway. (I don't think this would work if there were a serious number of pedestrians.)On reaching the traffic signals, cyclists turning right can wait for the green signal. (Not many do this, because it's a long wait.) Those going straight ahead can by-pass the traffic signals. There is plenty of space for pedestrians to wait before crossing the road.Northbound cyclists then re-join the carriageway on an advisory cycle lane. (If we were doing this today, we would probably build the kerb out before this point to prevent collisions).
