Background

CCC has been contacted as stakeholders, concerning a new cycle route that TfL is planning to provide. This is the route from Kings Cross to Elephant and Castle.

We have been invited to provide input to the study on this route. First we have to reply to the four questions shown below the plan.

The route being considered is shown on the plan below. It includes the following roads:

Kings Cross Road, Farringdon Road, Farringdon Street, Blackfriars Road and London Road (part).

This scheme was consulted early in 2007. See details

Redesign of junction at Lloyd Baker/Margery Street/Calthorpe Street

CRISP Report item. CAMISL04, 1-3. The recommendations just specify " major junction remodelling, remove guard railings ". Saying that CCC emphasised the difficulty with the width of the junction and of turning right into the junction.

The following drawing was supplied by Owen Bentley to Ralph Smyth by email in April 2007.

This is part of work to impprove the effectiveness of Route 38 but appears to be very detrimental to cyclists.
