Campaigning
Motorcycles and bus lanes
Before his election, Mayor Boris Johnson pledged to allow motorised two-wheelers to ride in bus lanes; CCC took a deputation to Camden council on 8th September to persuade them to prevent this from happening on Camden's roads. This was supported by a Green Motion to which the Executive responded on 3rd November. Read about deputation, motion and executive response. But the Mayor has announced an 18 month trial staring 3rd January 2009. Details of trial on TfL website
St Pancras International
The demo on 14th November is proving to have been very worthwhile. For full details read about the Demo and detailed outcomes. We're very pleased that our map of cycle routes is now on the Eurostar website. Good progress on the link from the stations to the SSL. Very little done yet on the recommendations of the Safety Audit.

Vélib': Paris self-service bike hire
Vélib' is a new form of transport infrastructure that every city should have - read a report on experiences of using the Paris Vélib system during a metro strike in November 2007. Report on Experiences with Vélib' Paris.
Ridiculous cycle lane at bottom of West Hill
This cycle lane was implemented by LB Camden in Summer 2008. It is on the Heath side of the roundabout at the junction of Highgate Road/ Swains Lane and West Hill. Its predecessor had a kerb but there was a way out when there was no illegal parking. The latest lane seems specifically to permit parking at the end of the cycle lane. Anyway, the best position for a cyclist is in the centre of the lane. Let's see how long it takes to get Camden to realise their stupidity. See the previous strange road signs etc
