Rides, meetings and other events - Back Up

If you want to know more about one of the rides or events below, follow the link to the details about when and where to meet and in the case of a ride, how to contact the ride leader named there. We are putting together rides for spring and summer 2009 - ideas please. If you would like to suggest a ride for this list or lead a ride yourself, please contact John Chamberlain.

Regular Wednesday Ride

James Brander led his Wednesday rides from Jan 21st - March 11th. The rides will start again on 6th May. Meet at 10.30 am at the Interchange Centre, Haverstock Hill, (100m up from Belsize Park tube station. These will be 20-25 miles long, of a medium pace, usually on radial routes, with a lunch stop, probably in a pub. Check details with James Brander on 7267 3585. George, who went on James' first weekly ride said: "I went on today's ride and enjoyed it greatly. Three of us spent 3 hours doing 27 miles and a few hills. I was pleasantly tired at the end. We were blessed with cold but dry weather. Our route is here.Thank you James!"

March 2009

Members Meeting, 9th March, 7.30 pm, Chair Helen Vecht. We have Guest Speakers Steve Cardo LCN+ Project Manager (left) and Brian Deegan LCN+ Project Development Manager (right) for our March Meeting. They will speak about the future of LCN+ beyond 2009-2010, following the Mayor’s withdrawal of funding. Details of meeting. Committee meets at 6.30 pm.

April 2009

Thames Towpath Ride, Sunday 5th April, meet at 11 am Details of Ride.

Family ride to Lea Valley Ride with lunch stop, Sunday 10th May, meet at 10:45 for 11 am start Leader John Chamberlain. Further details.

Bike Week 13th- 21st June

Camden Peripherique, Sunday 21st June This will be the third year of the ride around the Borough led by Paul Bratihwaite. Details of the ride. Meet at the Town Hall, Judd Street 10 am for 10.30 start. Lunch stop in Golders Hill Park.

Rides around London organised by CTC and others

Central London CTC organises many rides at the weekends. The general idea is to meet at a train station and to take the train and start the ride at some place in the countryside surrounding London.
